Creating a Printify Account
1. If you don’t have a Printify account already, you’ll need to create one before you begin. Click here and then click Sign Up in the top right-hand corner:
2. You can either click to continue using your Google account credentials (if you have a Google account) or if not, just add your email address and password into the fields, tick the Captcha and click the green Sign Up button:
3. Select the relevant answer from the drop-down menus, and then click the Next button:
4. This will redirect you to the Printify dashboard:
5. You can then work through the tasks on the left-hand side of the dashboard, starting with designing your first Product:
[tips]When you are creating your Products on Printify, be aware of the location of where the Products are shipped from, as this will influence the speed that they arrive with your customers - it will be days as opposed to weeks that they will have to wait for their products to arrive. [/tips]
6. To provide the best experience for your customers, it’s advised that you use providers based in the UK. You can see these by clicking Catalogue on the top left-hand side:
7. From the drop-down menu, select Print Providers on the left-hand side:
8. Click the United Kingdom tab on the top right-hand side:
9. This will reveal the following Providers:
10. You can click the name of each Provider to see the kind of Products that they list:
How to create your own Products
11. When you see a Product that you would like to sell on your EKM online shop, click it to view its product page:
12. On the Product Page, click the Start Designing button on the right-hand side:
13. This will launch the product editor. On the right-hand side, you’ll see the recommended image size and resolution for this particular product. When you’ve created your design, click the green button on the right-hand side:
14. To upload your design from your computer, click My Device on the top right-hand side:
15. Using the File Explorer window, you’ll then be able to select the image from your computer. When the preview has loaded, ensure that the green line is within the board for the image size - you can use the green arrow buttons to make your image small or large, and change it’s angle. If you wish to start again, click the red dustbin symbol to remove the image entirely. When you are happy with your image, click the Save Product button in the bottom right-hand corner:
[tips]If the product you've chosen has more than one colour variant available, you'll see this indicated in the top right-hand corner of the screen above. Click All Colours to tick the box next to the colour variants you'd like your Products to be available in.
Also, if you are using different colour variants, be sure to use .png image files where you can have a translucent background for the best possible results. [/tips]
16. This will redirect you to this page. Click Edit Listing:
17. On this page, you can edit everything about this particular product. At the top of the page, you’ll see a preview of the product:
18. The next element down allows you to edit the product name and product description. Be sure to edit the name to make this product unique. You should also edit the description too, to ensure that it’s unique to you and your EKM online shop:
[warning]When you are creating products, don’t forget to include different sizes where applicable, and finally, edit the name of each Product. This is especially important if you’re creating different versions of the same product - such as socks or t-shirts for example - as each Product Name needs to be unique for it to be imported onto your EKM online shop. [/warning]
19. When you have amended the product name and description, tick the box to add a size table to the description too:
20. Further down the page is the Variants element. Tick the Select All box to select all available sizes for this product:
21. You can now edit the price of the product and its variants. As all items on the Printify platform are displayed with their prices in USD $, you will need to use a platform such as XE.com to translate from dollars into GBP. Click either Edit Price, Edit Profit or Edit Profit Margin - each of these will adjust the figures by a given amount or a percentage. When you have adjusted your prices, tick the box below to Publish Product To Your API Store:
22. You then need to click the green Publish button in the bottom right-hand corner:
Adding a Store Name
23. When you have created your products, the next step is to give your Printify store a name. From the dashboard, click the green button on the right-hand side:
24. Add your store name into the field provided, and then click the green Save button:
24. You will then be redirected to this page, where you need to click the green button on the right-hand side to add your personal details:
